My confidence has improved massively. I always used to make jokes about my weight in the past, which I no longer do. I’m proud of myself.

Richard lost 8 stone 11 pounds in 6 and a half months

 

I’d reached the stage when my health was impacting me both physically and mentally. Having tried another diet 10 years ago, I did lose weight but there was no support at all, so I’d piled it back on afterwards.

Why did I choose LighterLife?

My wife had decided to try LighterLife, so I decided to do it with her and I haven’t looked back.

Mentoring and Mindfulness

My Mentor, Debbie, and her weekly zoom meetings were brilliant, my wife and I rarely missed a week. I found the sessions really helped me learn about and understand my behaviours around food and overeating. Each week we discussed different topics and things we can do to help with our respective weight loss journeys.

Knowing there’s always someone to talk to is really motivating. Debbie’s WhatsApp group and the LighterLife TotalFast Facebook community were really supportive too.

Following the plan

I started TotalFast on 22 January 2024 and by mid-July I’d lost 8 stones 11 lbs! After a holiday break in August, I’ve started the Management plan and am looking forward to maintaining my weight loss – I’m even enjoying salads…

During the first week on Total Fast I did feel a little hungry but that soon passed, and I started feeling full of energy. My go-to products were the Vegetable Soup and the Crispy Peanut Bar – easy and delicious.

What’s changed for me now that I’ve lost my weight?

There’s no comparison between my old wardrobe and how I dress now. My old work overalls used to be a 3XL but now I’m an M. After finishing TotalFast, I put on a pair of shorts for the first time ever, and left the house in them – something I would never have done before. And, on top of that, they were my son’s shorts with a 32” waist!

I can cross my legs again, I can play with our grandson without getting out of breath, and overall I’m feeling a lot healthier. My confidence has improved massively, I’m not afraid to have my photo taken now. I always used to make jokes about my weight in the past, which I no longer do. I’m proud of myself and I’m proud of my wife.

We went to Cyprus in August and I planned ahead so I had Foodpacks ready for when I got home, to lose any excess pounds I might have gained whilst away.

It was great sitting on the plane and being able to put the tray all the way down and leave it there for the whole flight, without it resting on or digging into my tummy.

We’ve been going to the same part of Cyprus since 1998 and this was the 5th time returning to the same hotel. We’ve made many friends out there, including a local taxi driver, and I couldn’t wait to see the looks on their faces when they saw us – they were gobsmacked!

I really enjoyed “strutting my stuff” when I got up from my lounger to go to the pool or the jacuzzi. People didn’t look at me in the same way that they did before.

What have I learned?

I’ve learned that excess eating is mainly down to boredom. And now I’ve lost the weight, I can keep it off by staying more mindful and eating healthier foods.

What I’d say to anyone thinking about starting LighterLife.

Go for it – just look at me and see the benefits it brings – I only wish I’d done it sooner!
